In urban or rural region particularly in developing countries like India, construction of central sewer treatment facility may be too costly to build, operate and maintain. In addition to that connecting residential or commercial toilets to the sewer treatment plant is sometimes impractical due to level mismatch, government permissions of road cutting or other substantial challenges. In such areas on site sewer treatment and disposal systems called Septic Tank with Soak Pit, Dry Well or SoakAge Well are generally being used for treatment and disposal of house hold waste water. A septic tank typically a large rectangular or round shape sealed structure located underground in residential building or any commercial compound. Generally these septic tanks are being constructed with cement, sand and bricks in India but in some areas readymade RCC pipes are being used too for the same purpose. The basic purpose of a septic tank is to retain solid particles present into waste water and allowing it to discharge into drain field after treatment so that connecting drain field, soak well or dry pit should not get clogged. So in order to guard our atmosphere and encourage public health, people characteristically required efficient sewer disposal system that should be capable enough to protect underground water table, public health and our surroundings. The discharge of untreated waste water from these septic tanks is not suitable, since it gives rise to various environmental challenges. There are more challenges with existing old model or conventional septic tank are being faced nowadays in India; few of them are mentioned below:-

Many inventors all around the world including India gave attention to this challenge and offered many options. In this context one person named Mr Balram Singh took an initiative and invented a simple, cost effective septic tank called Shankar and Balram Septic Tank sometimes referred as Absolute Clean Septic Tank long back in 1970. The SHANKAR or BALRAM trademarks belong to their respective owners. The said septic tank was tested by CBRI – Roorkee in 1995 and they found few hinders and suggested necessary changes and improvements in the design for better performance. We are living in the fast technological period and everything is changing very quickly so is technology. At present time we need a septic tank that can meet the demand of today’s time.
